The crown-jewel at the 36-hole resort golf complex at Ka’anapali, the ‘Royal’ course, though more modest in topography then other Maui courses such as Kapalua Plantation, has plenty of bite. The recently renovated layout begins at sea level and climbs up into the West Maui mountain foothills, demanding creative shot selections off the tee and on approach.

ABOUT THE COURSE
The Royal Ka’anapali Golf Course is a celebrated 6,700 yard par 71 Robert Trent Jones design that has long been the host of the Wendy’s Champions Skins Game, the first event of the year for the PGA Champions Tour (Seniors).
As the course is set along the West Maui hillside, off the tee, fairway roll is quite prevalent here as most tee shots will play level or downhill. From these higher approaches, take dead-aim as Royal’s fast and true rolling greens are highly receptive, holding even the most deft long-iron approach.
